TIDES Rural/Remote Rehab Team - Skill Development Group for Individuals with Aphasia

Program focuses on communication skill building among individuals with aphasia.
Offers 1:1 therapy services for clients with aphasia, led by a speech-language pathologist (SLP).

The Community Aphasia Group is for people with aphasia to build confidence and practice communication strategies in a friendly, supported setting. Each session has focused tasks to help participants work on individual goals and improve their communication skills.

The program is for people who have had a stroke or brain injury and are diagnosed with aphasia. Participants with aphasia may have difficulties with expression (speaking, writing) or comprehension (understanding, reading). Participants must be motivated to improve their communication skills, able to participate in a group and be able to understand simple questions and statements.
