Sexual Health Rehabilitation Service - G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre
Condition Specific Support, Disability Services, and Sexual Health
Provided by Vancouver Coastal Health
- To facilitate the sexual health rehabilitation of clients and their families through education and emotional support, and medical care.
- To provide education to health care providers, students and health care consumers
- To lead in advanced research initiatives that will develop the specialized body of knowledge in sexuality and disability.
The program recognizes sexual health to be a private and sensitive subject and the team is respectful of individual and family values and beliefs while maintaining confidentiality around shared information. The interventions are based on nonjudgmental approach and are geared towards the readiness of the person/family and the identified sexual health goals.
Drop in clinic every Thursday from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
They see clients with neurological impairments (a group of disorders that affect the central nervous system including the brain and spinal cord) who are:
- in-patients (currently admitted to GF Strong for rehabilitation services)
- out-patients (currently receiving rehabilitation and/or specialized services at GF Strong)
Referral Information: Clients must reside within BC/Yukon Territory. Referrals must be made by a physician or nurse practitioner.
