Sexual Health Rehabilitation Service - G.F. Strong Rehabilitation Centre

Provided by Vancouver Coastal Health

Provides sexual health rehabilitation and health care to clients with neurological impairments.
Provides a tertiary service composed of Sexual Health Clinicians (Registered Nurses) and a Sexual Medicine Doctor, who have been specifically trained in the field of sexual health, disability and rehabilitation. There are three primary objectives:
  • To facilitate the sexual health rehabilitation of clients and their families through education and emotional support, and medical care.
  • To provide education to health care providers, students and health care consumers
  • To lead in advanced research initiatives that will develop the specialized body of knowledge in sexuality and disability.

The interventions are based on nonjudgmental approach and are geared towards the readiness of the person/family and the identified sexual health goals.
