Vocational Rehabilitation Services - G.F. Strong

Employment support for individuals with neurological impairments.
Vocational rehabilitation services located at G.F Strong Rehab Centre offer vocational counselling support and assessment to improve clients’ employment potential by developing a return to work plan, determining work accommodations, and exploring suitable job options. When clients have functional changes that impact their ability to work, a vocational rehab counsellor can help explore vocational options to address concerns about employment. For example, clients might want to start a graduated return to work, learn their rights as employees, obtain job accommodations, go back to school, explore a career change, or better understand insurance benefits.

Medical diagnoses include: spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury including stroke and traumatic brain injury, arthritis and other rheumatic diseases, amputation, neuromuscular skeletal conditions.

Referral Information: Referrals must be made by a physician or nurse practitioner. Client must be 16 years of age or older. Client must be a resident of Vancouver Coastal Health region or admitted to one of the GF Strong Rehab Centre's programs.
