Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) - Southeast

Provided by Vancouver Coastal Health

An Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) is the place you can go to get same-day care for urgent and non-life threatening health concerns.
The Southeast UPCC is for non-life-threatening illnesses or injuries when you are unable to see your family doctor or care provider. Patients will be seen according to urgency.

Visit the UPCC if you are experiencing:
  • Sprains and strains
  • Cuts, wounds or skin conditions
  • High fever
  • Infections including chest, ear and urinary tract
  • Asthma attacks
  • New or worsening pain
  • Dehydration/Constipation
  • Less serious child illness and injury .

Referrals are not required. The UPCC is an urgent care centre and does not take appointments. Patients can present to the UPCC and be seen on the same day. Patients presenting to the UPCC are triaged and seen according to their urgency.

Please note: An Urgent Primary Care Centre is not an emergency room. It cannot treat patients with serious illnesses or injuries such as broken bones, chest pains or head injuries. Patients with serious conditions should continue to attend their nearest hospital emergency room or call 9-1-1 as needed.
