Housing Services Include:

• Seniors Loan Program: Emergency Funds which may be needed to pay rent, utility bills or another expense in order to maintain housing.
• Housing Navigation: Assisting seniors with navigating housing resources
• Homeless Outreach Services: One-on-one services to assist seniors in stabilizing and maintaining housing
• Homeless Prevention Program: Specialized services to assist seniors in preventing loss of housing.
• Temporary Housing Program (THP): An alternative housing option for seniors in crisis.

When you are connected to our housing department, trained staff will ask you a series of detailed questions to determine your housing needs. All client interviews are confidential, and if you are phoning on behalf of a senior we will always speak with the client before taking any action to make sure that they are directly involved in the decision making.

We ask specific and personal questions about factors such as health and income because these will affect your eligibility for the various types of seniors housing. For example, Eligibility for subsidized housing is based on income, To access publicly funded residential care requiring an assessment through the health unit.

Once the Housing Counsellor clearly understands your particular situation, a package of information will be assembled according to your housing needs and sent to you by mail.

Available for seniors 60+ who are inquiring about different seniors’ housing options in Metro Vancouver; excluding the Downtown East Side.
