Eating Disorders Program - Adult -Richmond

Offers community-based assessment and treatment for adults and families with eating disorders. For people 18 years and older who live in Richmond and have a diagnosis of anorexia and/or bulimia nervosa.
The Richmond Eating Disorders program is a free, voluntary, community-based program that offers assessment and treatment services for people with eating disorders (including Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). The program is staffed by a team made up of a physician, a dietitian and clinical counsellors. A treatment plan is developed with the client/family's input and may include individual therapy, family therapy, parent support groups, medical support and/or nutritional therapy.

Treatment may include:
  • Individual and/or family counselling
  • Medical monitoring
  • Nutritional support

Aims to explore and enhance the unique strengths and abilities of clients and families in the pursuit of personal and health goals.

Consultation and education are also available to community agencies and professionals to promote awareness and early intervention.

The interdisciplinary team includes physicians, therapists, and a registered dietitian, and a nurse. Works in collaboration with family physicians and liaise with the St. Paul’s Hospitals.

Referral Instructions: A referral is required in order to access the program. Referrals are accepted from a family physician or nurse practitioner . Fax referral form to Central Intake. (See form and fax number information below).
