Vancouver Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT Clinic) - Pender Community Health Centre (CHC) - Addictions Treatment

Offers a full range of addiction services. Serves adult residents of Vancouver, with priority to clients who live in the Downtown Eastside. Primary health care only for vulnerable residents who do not have a primary physician.
Offers a full range of addiction services. Services are provided by a team that may include doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, concurrent disorders counsellors, social workers, community liaison workers, and peers. The clinic provides addiction services, including:
  • opiate agonist therapy (methadone/Suboxone) initiation and maintenance.
  • needle exchange (clean needles and other harm reduction equipment/supplies)
  • support in seeking detox, recovery houses, and treatment centres
  • short-term individual counselling, as well as groups that address both mental health and addiction issues
  • free Take Home Naloxone Kits (Narcan)
  • clinical assessment
  • specialized treatment planning
  • aftercare, and follow-up
  • safer smoking supplies
  • safer sex supplies

Hours of Operation: OAT services are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. Available on first come first serve. Only two clients are seen on the day of operation. Client intake begins at noon. Harm reduction and needle exchange services are offered on a drop-in basis 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
