Healing Hearts Bereavement Support

A free bereavement support group specific to those grieving the loss of a loved one due to overdose or substance-use harms.
Healing Hearts are peer-led grief support groups after the loss of a loved one from substance use related causes. The groups meet on a regular basis (most once per month), where individuals share their pain with others who have the same experience without stigma and without blame.
Participants must be over the age of 18 years to attend the group. Healing Hearts support groups offer an open-format peer-led model of support. Healing Hearts does not offer therapeutic counselling. The group facilitators have lived experience and have personally lost a loved one to substance related harms. Healing Hearts monthly meetings are offered at no charge. Participants are welcome to attend the support group for as long as they feel they need the support.
The meetings are currently being offered through Zoom.
