Eating Disorders Program - Child and Youth - Vancouver

Offers community-based assessment and treatment for youth and families with eating disorders.
The Vancouver Eating Disorders Program is a free, voluntary, community-based program that offers inclusive, trauma informed, client-centred care to clients and families. The team includes therapists, nurses, dietitians, family therapists, outreach counsellors, recreation therapists, physicians, and some access to a psychiatrist. Appointments are offered Monday-Friday, 9-5 via zoom and in-person appointments. Some mandatory in-person appointment are required.

The program offers community-based assessment and treatment for youth and families with eating disorders including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Eating Disorders Not Otherwise. Services available for children and youth aged 13-19 who live in Vancouver. Consultation, education and connection to alternate levels of care offered to children aged 12-13 while awaiting treatment.

Services are free of charge, and treatment options include:
  • Family and friends support group
  • Caregiver education series
  • Individual and family therapy
  • Nutritional education and support
  • Medical monitoring and consultation
  • Psychiatric consultation (via internal program referral)
  • Recreation therapy and outreach


Consultation and education are also available to community agencies and professionals to promote awareness and early intervention.
