Autism Assessment Program - Vancouver Coastal/Fraser Health

Provided by Vancouver Coastal Health

A program that assesses individuals for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Vancouver Coastal Health Authority is part of the British Columbia Autism Assessment Network (BCAAN). BCAAN is a network of clinicians who assess and diagnose children and youth who may have ASD. All the clinicians that are part of BCAAN use the same guidelines and standards to decide whether a child or youth has ASD.

What do we do?:
  • Provide Autism assessment and diagnosis for children up to their 19th birthday
  • Provide you with resources, consultation, and information
  • Provide education for families and community service providers
  • Participate in research

  • The first step is to make an appointment with your family doctor. Once you do that, your doctor will either refer you to a specialist or may refer you to a professional who is an expert in diagnosing ASD.
